The design concept of Oregon Hill centers around a verdant, semi-private courtyard for residents. Intentionally preserving the
streetscape of the original 19th century working class community, the DG Group sensitively located the parking in clusters within the courtyard. The
parking remains hidden from the street and creates a separation from the semi-public space of the courtyard and the privacy of the individual
townhouse. Existing attached single family residences are preserved and included in the groupings of townhouses. Contextually, the new houses
replicate the design elements of the existing in materials, scale, and details.
Uniquely situated on a promontory, the townhouses provide spectacular views of the James River overlooking the series of rapids demarcating an historically significant geological fall-line.
